Chinese Astrology on Sarah Palin (Part THREE of a FIVE-Part Series)
This is Part THREE of a FIVE-Part Series, on what Chinese astrology has to say about the presidental candidates and their running mates.
Sarah Palin was born February 11, 1964 at 4:40 PM in Sandpoint, Idaho.
In 1964, the Chinese New Year fell on February 12. So that means her February 11 birthdate puts her back (from the Dragon year of 1964) to the Rabbit Year of 1963. She is a Water Rabbit with some possible characteristics of a Wood Dragon (having missed being a Wood Dragon by about seven hours). I don’t know how close the cut-off is for being born on the cusp of two years, but it would seem to me that seven hours would qualify to give a person some combined characteristics of each sign. She was born in the Monkey Hours (3 PM – 5 PM).
According to Chinese Astrologer Theodora Lau’s book, Water Rabbits possess an excellent memory. They also find they attract many supporters who rally to their defense when they least expect it. They can rally powerful allies to their aid, and are never without resources or influence so long as they do not carry their neutrality so far that no one will take their side. Water Rabbits have a fragile and emotional nature, and cannot bear harrassment or disent. They are easily influenced because he is so empathetic, able to pick up the thoughts and feelings of others with uncanny accuracy. They are not very decisive, and can come under the sway of others. In negative moods, they suspect the motives of those around them. Wood Dragons are capable of developing bright new revolutionary concepts. They are adept at formulating and implementing their ideas and working cooperatively with others, even if condescending on occassion. They are amenable to taking the middle road, and try to offend as few people as possible. These Dragons will compromise when it is to their advantage. They will, however, be outspoken, proud, and fearless when challenged.
A Rabbit Born in the Monkey Hours (3 PM to 5 PM):
This is an outgoing and inventive type of Rabbit. Natural intuition and graciousness is colored by the Monkey’s love of mischief and innovation. This superior Money intelligence may be masked by a calm and collected exterior. People shold think twice before matching wits with the s combination. The beautiful Rabbit demeanor is an excellent cover for the Money’s ingenious plots.
A Dragon Born in the Monkey Hours (3 PM to 5 PM):
This is a superstar combination of of problem solver and overachiever. These people may appear affable and friendly on the outside, but on the inside they are made of steel and nothing gets past them. They are observant, diligent, and inventive. A Dragon born in the Money Hours makes her own rules, and has no trouble getting others to support them.
My Conclusion: It seems to me that the Rabbit is a good balance for the Dragon’s weaknesses. Being born in the Monkey Hours strengthens either sign (Rabbit or Dragon). A former Tarot reading I did a couple posts back indicates that Sarah Palin will be a future president, and one of my readers claims that numerology indicates she will be a future president also.

Chinese New Year may have fallen on Feb 12 on that year, but in traditional Chinese astrology, according to the authoritative Xia calendar, the Chinese New Year (spring) begins on Feb 4. Many, if not most, Chinese astrology and geomancy practitioners follow the traditional Xia calendar when doing forecasting. That would make Sarah Palin a Dragon.

Hi KK,
Please, I have an important question for you. I have been studying a lot of Feng Shui which is apparently EXTREMELY important to calculate by the exact day of the Chinese New Year. (I have been studying Eva Wong’s Master Course in Feng Shui.) So my question is this: does Feng Shui follow the Chinese New Year; whereas astrology does not, and follows the Xia calendar instead?
Chinese astrologer Theodora Lau (whose book I am using) makes no mention at all of the Xia calendar in her book, and I have searched carefully. Lau indicates in her book that exact dates should be used and provides all such dates (taken from the Chinese Ten Thousand Years (Perpetual) Lunar Calendar).
Are there some schools of Chinese astrology which follow the Xia calendar, and others which follow the Ten Thousand Year Lunar Calendar?
