Tarot Predicts Narrow McCain Victory in 2008 Election; & Sarah Palin To Be a Future President

I’m really going to stick my neck out on this prediction.  I’ve been trying to get a clear answer for months from the Tarot cards on who will win the election.  I haven’t done a reading since March, and decided it was time to try again since the vice-presidential candidates have now been chosen.

If I’m reading my cards correctly, they predict a very narrow popular win for McCain/Palin, with no recount of votes.  But it appears that something could happen to McCain while in office, where Sarah Palin ends up becoming president.

I used Trish MacGregor and Phyllis Vega’s Yes/No Spread, from their book Power Tarot.  See the bottom of this post for an interpretation list of each card.  This spread uses only Major Arcana, as well as the 9 of Cups.

For those of you who want the details, here they are.  I’d also be interested in hearing anyone else’s interpretation of the readings below.  Please do let me know if your interpretations differ from my own, or if they support my own conclusions.

Question 1: Will the McCain/Palin ticket be inaugurated in January?  (I asked the question this way since so many leading astrologers seem to think that Obama will win the popular vote, but that there will be some “problem” with him being inaugurated in January.)

Question 2: Will the Obama/Biden ticket be inaugurated in January? (I asked this to double-check against the first question result.)

Question 3: Will there have to be a recount of votes after the election?

Question 4: Will Obama/Biden win the popular vote?

Question 5: Will McCain/Palin win the popular vote?

Question 6: Will Sarah Palin become president in the future?

Vega and MacGregor’s interpretation of the cards:

Yes: Fool, Magician, Empress, Emperor, Chariot, Justice, Star, Sun, World, Nine of Cups.

Can Go Either Way: High Priestess, Wheel of Fortune, Lovers, Hierophant, Moon, Judgment.

No: Strength, tower, Temperance, Hermit, Hanged Man, Death, Devil.

Interesting reading. Two questions arise for me though that might clarify things a bit more.

    1. Who will win the Electoral College Vote? (which occasionally is different than the popular vote such as Gore/Bush).

    2. Will Sarah Palin’s future Presidency occur in the near or distant future?
It’s possible that she may lose the upcoming race but then run again later on and win.

I just found your comment on my blog http://astrologyandpsychicpredictions.wordpress.com
You’re interpretation is interesting. Do you not use reversed cards? I had the same exact cards come up for Sarah Palin but I with the Magician being new beginning, the fool jumping off into the unknown and the tower disaster. I would (not that your wrong it’s just a difference of opinion) take this to mean that if McCain wins, she will take over and be a disaster. But I like your interpretation better! Hope your right and there’s no chance of a Palin administration!

  3. margotmarrakesh Says:

    Dear Zoma,

No, I don’t use reversed cards. I’m still fairly new to Tarot (three years or so), and still having to look up most things in my books. So until I advance a big more in my studies, I intend to save reversed cards for a bit later.

It will be interesting to see what happens! I’m not sure if I’m reading the cards correctly or not, so it’s always nice to have your opinion, too. That’s why I put my cards here, in case anyone else wanted to comment on them. Thanks!

    Hello Margot,

Many predictors make their predictions based on opinion polls. When polls are up for a candidate, predictors say that candidate wins. When polls are down for a candidate, predictors and astrologers say that candidate will lose. Like they do not see any future but just make their predictions based on current events.
You predicted a McCain win back in September, when McCain was up and with Sarah Palin popularity very up in the polls. Now, 10 october, 3 weeks before the elections and with this economic crisis, do you reafirm your prediction of a narrow McCain win? Does the economic crisis changed the future telling of back in September 10?

  5. robert c Says:

Well Carmelo that is not true. Astrolgers and seers have commented on the election process for years. For well over eight months astrologers have been divided on who would win. Partly this is due to which technique employed to interpret the chart. Other factors and charts come into play. Do you read the chart of the candidate only? Or do you read the chart for his/her announcement, nomination, running mate, the day of election, the day of the inauguration or all of the above and more? Do you use tropical or sidereal charts in your interpretation? Do you use declinations, secondary progressions, tertiaries, converse motions or other interpretive techniques. This doesn’t mean that any one astrologer is more right or wrong, it just means that they are seeing varied things that may come into play and are also subject to the free will and subjective actions of the native. Many astrologers have been dead on accurate on the financial meltdown, having predicted these events years ago to the month. Look up Ray Merriman. The chart for the ignauguration indicates that whoever is elected may either not serve very long or there will be a radical change of course at some point soon thereafter. But who will win? Flip a coin. There are no determinative aspects for either side strong enough to make that determination with conviction. However, here is the site location for Joni Paltry’s, a eminent vedic practitioner ,updated prediction. http://www.galacticcenter.org/main/articles-and-case-studies/how-to-make-precise-predictions-using-the-power-of-vedic-astrology.html

The High Priestess’ position in question #2 indicates also a possible problem or surprise if Obama is elected. Since the chart for the ignaguration has a void of course moon at critical degree, a Mercury retrograde, the Saturn Uranus opposition prominent and many midpoint indicators, whoever is elected may not serve very long, or that we are looking at a one term presidency at the most. I personally believe that the 2012 election cycle will pit two women in opposition vying for the presidency.

  6. Carmelo Says:

    Robert,

my point is that, if some one who says is an astrologer gifted with some knowledge of future events, a psychic who can predict the future, why most of these so called “astrologers” and “psychics” keep on saying stuff like “I think..” “I see” “It looks like..”
If we see the history of events predictions, even in the Bible, we see that the phophets and “psychics” with the power of God or evil were able to say “This will happen at certain time…” or “War shall break out between so and son on…”
I have not read Daniel saying “I think Babylon might be destroyed..”

Now most psychics follow opinion polls to make their predictions. Remember than just a year ago, all psychics and astrologers were predicting an easy Hillary Clinton presidency because that was the scent we had in the air at that time. No one came out saying Hillary would not even win her party nomination in 2008.

Now, October 13, some 3 weeks before the elections, opinion polls, though shrinking, still give a 5 to 6 points lead average to Obama. Most online “psychics” are predicting an Obama win or at least they tend to lean toward Obama.
Some only say “I see Obama winning but let’s see what happens” What kind of “psychics are these?

I have not seen online a “psychic” saying for sure “Obama shalll win, that’s it” or “McCain shall win, end of story”

I’m not psychic but I predict McCain will win and he might win big, why? Because there is too much distrust about this guy Obama out there. I don’t follow opinion polls, I follow what I feel, what I see in te news, on the Internet, on past elections results. I predict race will be the big issue in this elections, not the economy. I predict voters will be asking more about Obama ties to Bill Ayers, Tony Rezko, Pastor Wright, Acron , Chicago thugs, and all those dubious characters. Voters are concerned about if Obama “palls” with characters like these, what kind of president he will be? Who will be giving him advices on foreign policies, economy, education… who will he appoint as Secretary of State or Defense? Education? Who will run this country he, Biden or these dark characters and “organizations”?

I predict McCain wins, not following polls, Tina Fey, MSMBC, CNN, Kathy Couric, Charles Gibson, Matt Damom, Woopi Goldberg, voter fraud, Fox news, Charles Rangel or the Obama machine. I’m following what I think is the general thinking of 110 millions voters(70 millions of which watched Sarah Palin debate) that is a big distrust out there about the young Chicago politician named Barack Hussein Obama.

  7. robert c Says:

Carmelo. There is a distinct difference between an astrologer and a psychic. An astrologer 1st will cast a chart based on exact times. There are different methodologies, since astrology, as an ancient science, was never particular to one place and time. As an exapmle there is Western astrology using the tropical zodiac, Vedic astrology which uses the sidereal system, Chinese & Tibetan astrology, Mayan astrology etc. Often interpretations based on any of these systems will concur on interpretation. What is the important factor for all systems is the EXACT time of birth. What you see online now, are astrologers making predictions without knowing the exact time of the candidates births. Clinton’s time was guessed. McCain’s has never been determined and I’ve seen five different guesses, none of them confirmed. Obama has had three times used, the last being the time off the birth certificate posted from his web site, of which there remains great controversy. Understand that as various times were postulated for these candidates, aspects & house cusps changed, altering influences. On top of understand that no two astrologers will ever interpret a chart the same, or come to the exact same conclusions since, as I explained above, techniques differ. Most reputable astrologers will not wade in deep to mundane political prediction not only due to the uncertainty of information, but also since personal political affliations and ego often intrude. Many of the online mundane sites such as Starlight News, Astroworld, Stars Over Washington, Planet Waves and Astrology and Psychic Predictions are fundementally politically biased and flawed from the get go and unprofessionally misuse astrological fundementals in order to slant interpretations towards their favored candidate of the moment. Often they are wrong. They host ongoing blogs that castigate differing opinion, even differing astrological opinion. They interpret coming from their own ego and desire to be right rather than from a point of absolute neutrality, so their conclusions are always suspect. AFAN and the NCGR need to impose strict regulations for such misuse of the practice since it directly affects the veracity and the livlihood of other astrologers who fundementally shun mundane political opinion. That said, some very reputable astrologers have interpreted the information that is there and have reached some conclusions. The recent conference in Denver is an example of some very skilled hands collectively coming to differing conclusions. I take note of Ray Merriman, the peerless financial astrologer, who ventured a recent conclusion but will not comment further. Joni Paltry has done the same. Robert Hand will not hazard any forecast without accurate birthtimes. Both Merriman & Paltry by the way, as does Alex Mignon and a host of others, agree with your own non astrological conclusion if that gives you pause.

Psychics are a different story. They do not use scientific methodology to forecast, but utilize any number of other influences that reach the higher mind or external entities to pull information from the Akashic records. Some are clairvoyant, or clairsentient, some scry, or have a higher ability through ESP. Others utilize external aids such as stones, I Ching or the Tarot to ascertain that information. Please understand that often such information is in conflict. I can cast monthly spreads on the election and each will pull differing conclusions. There are reasons for that. Free will in all things is dominant. Individuals themselves alter the course of events. When McCain, as an example, picked Palin, interpretations changed since you are now pulling two life forces into a spread, not one. Your example of the Bible is not far different than what happens today. Most of the biblical prophets were pulling predictions from the Askashic records but ascribed no dates to the events. Whereas, as an example, Ray Merriman predicted the finacial meltdown we are now witnessing, years ago, to the exact month. I predicted Charlton Heston’s death one week in advance, and the Chinese quake two days ahead. The psychic, Elizabeth Joyce, a dear friend of mine, described Barack Obama two years ago, his rise out of nowhere, his election, and his death, and posted that on her site. She named Monica Lewinsky eight months before the news broke. But Credible psychics like Rosanna Rogers, Yolana Lassaw, or Elizabeth often disagree.

But I must say that you must find the subject intriguing enough to visit such sites as these. In the meantime, I compliment Margot on her site and hope that she continues trying to determine the course of events that interest her.

  8. Interesting because I have had that same feeling of McCain winning and about 3 years in Palin becoming president

  9. margotmarrakesh Says:

    Carmelo,

Yes, I will stand by the prediction, if only because I paid no attention to opinion polls and just made an attempt to interpret the Tarot to the best of my ability. I have not done a reading since that time, and unfortunately don’t have a chance at the moment to do a follow-up reading. If I do get a chance, I will post the results here.

Part of the reason I posted my Tarot prediction here is as a test for ME, to see if the cards predict the correct outcome, and also to test my OWN intuition for the future, to see if I can trust future Tarot readings of my own!

Thanks for reading, and thanks for your excellent question.

  10. margotmarrakesh Says:

    Patricia,

Is that just a feeling, or have you been doing any kind of readings which indicate that?

  11. Carmelo Says:

The flash news are that Joe Biden is infusing doubts in the voters about electing his own running mate. Biden says that foreign countries WILL test this young and inexperience president if he gets elected. But commenters are saying this “test” will not be for McCain whom the whole world knows is an already tested leader. Plus Sarah Palin seems togher than Obama with her strong words against Iran and Russia. Any crazy foreign leader will think it twice before messing with these mavericks. This Biden gaffe will make millions of concerned voters go for McCain-Palin ticket.
There is a quatrain from Nostradamus that states “the least part will be doubtful for the elder one” which some analysts are saying refers to McCain who will be less doubtful than Obama.
Looking at these polls they are tigheting but still with an Obama lead, just like Reagan-Carter, Bush-Gore and Bush-Kerry.

  12. Carmelo Says:

More flash news: Obama is really a Marxist! His support for communist Kenyan leader Raila Odinga back when he was Illinios state senator confirms Obama is a closet communist who wants to bring Marxist economic changes to America. That is the “change” Obama wants for America: COMUNISM. Americans are rejecting Obama’s socialist change 3 to 1 in the polls.
Obama is now trying to steal the elections with voter fraud and early voting registration fraud. But polls are tigtheting in battleground states. McCain is now ahead in Ohio and Florida and very close to take PENNSYLVANIA!
McCain might take the lead of all battleground states with a majority of “white, middle class, anti socialist(maybe racial prejudiced) and conservative hispanic majority!”
Voter fraud is not working for Obama too much.

  13. barry the democrat Says:

I hope you’re right, Carmelo. I pray you are.

  14. Carmelo Says:

Millions of people are asking themselves where is Obama getting all that money from?
Was he really born in Kenya and that is why too many questions about his birth certificate?
Is he really going to invade Pakistan?
    Re-Intall the military draft?
    Install a marxist economy?
Obama is buying the media, but he won’t be able to buy decent and concerned voters.

  16. Carmelo Says:

Now it is Wednesday, 29 October 2008. Exactly 5 days to elctions day. Most known and “accurate” psychics , and even pseudo Psychics and amateurs are predicting a McCain Palin win. Opinion polls still have Obama leading on an average 5 points lead. MSMBC on its morning show “Morning Joe” already gives the elections to Obama. Their analysts also say the same and kind of mock McCain’s last efforts.
Nobody takes any restraints on their predictions. Nobody gives McCain a slight chance, nobody remembers Reagan-Carter, Gore-Bush, or more dramatically Truman-Dewey. Everybody in the media is giving the elections to Obama except FOX news and AOL. Some astrologers are giving the elections to Obama using the same charts the other astrologers that are predicting a McCain win.
In 5 nights we will see who was right. And in 6 months to 3 years we will see if those other sad and predictions about whoever take the presidency unfolds.
SEE YOU ALL BACK IN THIS SITE ON NOVEMBER 4!

    I BET CHA!!!!

  17. Johanna Says:

I don’t agree with that prediction. I think John McCain will win: many psychics predicted there will be a woman in the white house this year. Many of them thougt i was Hillary, but it will be Sarah Palin. See you guys november 4th

  18. Carmelo Says:

With the loss of John McCain and his running mate Sarah Palin, one question arises: would a woman be elected president of the United States some day in this generation?

During the democratic party primaries, even women rejected Hillary Clinton for Barack Obama. Hillary Clinton has been the most qualified and with more name recognition woman in politics. Until Sarah Palin came to the national scene two months ago.

The attacks on Sarah Palin continues, even polls showing a 60% of Americans saying she is not qualified to become vice president or president. Hillary’s approval numbers back in 2006 were over the 80%, yet she lost her party’s nomination. Why is this phenomenon happening, even women rejecting women candidates?

Condoleeza Rice has great qualifications and experience to become vice president or president , yet many people and women in particular don’t like her and they say she is not even qualified to run the State Department.

Historically, women in this country has been treated worst than black males. Barack Obama is the first African American person to be elected president, yet he is still a “male”. A woman elected president of the most powerful nation on earth would have biggest historical repercussions.

Historically, prejudice and discrimination against women has been twice as greater than discrimination against black males.

Sarah Palin has energized the conservative base of the republican party. Her popularity is still soaring, even when her ticket lost. She is seen as the possible future leader of the conservative movement and the republican party. At 44, she is still young enough to continue learning and improving her image. She will be just 48 in four years. Only one person might stand on her way: popular Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal. A Palin -Jindal republican primaries might become like the Obama-Clinton drama. Only that Jindal would not be as arrogant as Obama.

Be certain that this is the couple to watch in 3 years. Forget about Giulliani, Huckabee or Romney. There is no more room for “rich white males” in the republican hemisphere with an incumbent black president!

Would Sarah Palin beat Bobby Jindal in a future republican primaries? She just might! Remember that Bobby Jindal is of India origins and in the US there are not too many Indian-Americans.

Sarah Palin might just become our first female president in 4 years shattering the “glass ceiling” once and for all! This nation needs some women power! Isn’t time? I just hope women stick together no matter race or political sides. If women keep on battling women, they will never have one of their own on the helms of the most powerful nation on ea

  19. Judi Wilson Says:

Nov. 7, 2008: Now don’t you feel foolish? Better go back again and restudy the Tarot and astrology!

No, actually I don’t. This was a personal test for me to see if the Tarot works. My conclusion is that it works a lot better to get more in-depth information about what is happening NOW, to clarify the NOW, than it works toward predicting the future. I have yet to see if my tea-leaf prediction is correct (which predicts a Joe Biden presidency, and which I hope will be incorrect).

    Margot

  20. Alisa Moore Says:

I interpret the high priestess cards for the election and inauguration to mean a woman will be in the white house, as so many have predicted. This concerns me for Barack’s safety (again, based on so many predictions from astrologists as well as my own intuition). If something were to happen to Barack before inauguration, would Hilary end up in the white house after all????

I wouldn’t think so, I think it would be Joe Biden who would end up in the White House. (See my tea leaf prediction last week which seems to predict exactly that–although I hope it will not come to pass!).

  21. Carmelo Says:

I prefer a 12 years Obama messianic presidency than a crazy killing him! Pray to God that something like that doesn’t happens in our generation. The Obama birthplace and dual citizenship controversy looks like more fun.

  22. chiron Says:

Astrologically, we are about to slip into a cycle of catalytic change, and not the kind that Obama has been window dressing. At the end of this month Pluto transits back into Capricorn for its full ride through that sign. It does not travel ‘unarmed’. Government institutions, banks, authority figures, farms, and other indicators of Capricorn will be affected. You will watch those you would fully expect to defend the constitution to rip it apart. The recent Saturn Uranus opposition exact on election day will return on February 5th in the second of five passes. That is only four days ahead of the powerful eclipse on the 9th at 21 degrees on Leo. There will occur major events in India, Burma and China. This dual configuration will also hit Obama’s chart while his natal Mars is opposed by transiting Uranus. All indicators of assassination attempts. This aspect also affects John McCain and his health could fail dramatically. Unfortunately I see the extraordinary circumstance of both presidential candidates dying soon. Both have planets posited at 22 degrees of Virgo. Transiting Uranus will move into the orb of opposition of that degree in December. In McCain’s case the depression from the loss and the effects of the strain of the election effort will precipitate a heart attack. The planet involved for him is Venus, ruling his 1st house. For Barrack, the planet involved is Mars. The aspect involved sets off all of his astrological death indicators. The combination of Mars and Uranus could indicate sudden violent events. I don’t expect him to survive. I see Biden taking office for the four year term.

  24. Carmelo Says:

Diane’s comment on September 20 might come true. It looks like Sarah Palin is positioning herself to be the GOP nominee in 2012. So far, her approval ratings between republicans and conservatives are over 60% . Her closest competitor Mit Romney is only on the 20s approval ratings.
Barack Obama would face his equal in 2012. This time is not a 72 years old handicapped former POW whose 20% of his own party rejected. This time might be a super attractive woman who is more articulate than him and whose popularity might become greater than his.
A black president will be yesterday news in 4 years. But a woman president of the most powerful nation on earth will be seen as a real achievement in 2012.

  25. Shannon Says:

    Margot,

I think a big part of your problem in having made this prediction, is that you’re using the Tarot in a way that it is not designed to be used in. I don’t care what anyone says, yYou cannot get answers to direct yes/no questions from the Tarot. If you are going to get answers to yes/no questions, you must do so as an inference from other less polar questions. The Tarot is not designed for lack and white answers; it is a language of shades and symbols.

In my years of teaching, this is the single biggest problem people have with learning to read the Tarot accurately: They don’t know how to phrase questions properly. It’s like any computer programming language in this regard: If you are working in a language designed for abstraction (symbols), you can’t do precise mathematical work in it (absolutes). This is also why so many people try to learn the Tarot and conclude that it doesn’t work, when it does. They’re trying to make a square peg fit into a round hole, and they don’t even know it!

Fortunately, I explain all this and lots more in my book.

Now let’s consider my previous prediction, because I don’t have time to find the last place I posted about it right this moment.

I predicted that Obama would win, and McCain would take the white house.

Well, Obama has won. I was right on that. But has McCain taken the White House? No.

And I dare say it seems inconceivable that he will. But I think it’s still possible, on the order of 1% probability. Do I think it is going to happen? No. But given that our current “president” has woven so many “I can do as I please” laws around himself using signing statements, it’s possible.

I hope it doesn’t happen, and I hope I was wrong on that point. If I am wrong, then I’ll have to take the blame, not the Tarot, because I have made this particular mistake before, and that is looking at too long a time frame for specific information. I do this once in a while when I am pressed for time, as I was the day I made that prediction.

In effect, what I did was to make several predictions, almost all of them based on one year per card, and then try to extrapolate detailed information for a shorter (much shorter) period of time. That is not a good idea.

The solution to this problem is twofold: Don’t do complex reading scenarios when you don’t have the time (if only I had known I was going to be dragged off), and do what is called “drilling down for detail”. Drilling down for detail is locating a specific chunk of time within a longer term reading that interests you, and then doing another reading that only encompasses that particular period of time, going finer and finer until you see at the level of detail you need to see. I describe how to do this, and which spreads to use, in my book also.

I did not drill down for details. Bad me.

So. This is why it is critically important to learn to read the Tarot properly. When you get into asking about important questions, and you don’t know how to properly phrase questions (and let’s face it, who teaches or even thinks about that anymore?), you will get gibberish as an answer, because the cards cannot answer your question!

This is also applicable to other forms of prediction and divination. For instance, you CAN get a direct yes/no question answered using dowsing.

  26. margotmarrakesh Says:

Shannon, thank you for your response, and I hope I will have a chance to read your book!

    Margot

  27. T Says:

I don’t know about anybody else, but i don’t see it that way at all in relation to row 5. The question should be..what causes the problem before inauguration?

i see the problem as being because of a bad decision. Because of this bad decision..he hangs himself, so to speak.

Then the delay or “problem” occurs.

Row 5= I see this magician standing before a conference of 9, explaining his wheel of fortune.

Row 6= the fools whom have followed the magician will go before him to defend him.

    Chaos.
