Daily Tarot Experiment – Results After One Year of Testing
For nearly a year, I’ve been conducting experiments with Tarot cards. I’ve done a weekly reading with a Major Arcana card, and a daily reading with both Major Arcana supplemented by a Minor Arcana card (for over half the year). For the past two months, I’ve gone to a weekly Major Arcana card, and one card drawn for each day from the whole deck (mixed Major and Minor Arcana).

I’ve also been following astrological monthly forecasts and trying to see if these match up with the Tarot forecasts with anything significant.
I’ve also attempted to do a Celtic Cross spread for myself at the beginning of each month.

So, now for the results. I’ve noticed some dramatic hits, such as a death of someone important in my life on a day when I drew the Tower, and a serious home accident occurring on another day I drew the Tower. Other times, when I drew the Tower, nothing bad happened at all. This is just an example of a few of the dramatic “hits.” There were also some minor hits where things did seem to fit, up to fifty percent of the time, but you sort of had to look around for those things sometimes. Many times, I couldn’t see any correlation at all. Sometimes things indicated happened not to myself, but to the people around me. I’m still waiting to finish out the year, and will do a yearly forecast again this year, to see how things develop.
My conclusions after all this is that there may be something to the Tarot (where before a started I was completely skeptical that a deck of cards could tell anyone anything), but I’m not convinced that the number of hits was any greater than random chance would be.
I think what it all comes down to is your own world view. Do you believe there is anything to such paranormal phenomena such as ESP, telepathy, etc., or not? I do believe these things exist, but I don’t seem to be able to channel into them well. The reason I started with Tarot is that I read a book by John Edward, the famous American psychic. He said he started developing his abilities with Tarot cards, as did Victoria Laurie (American psychic and author). I figured if it was good enough for them, then it was good enough for me. It’s been a bit fun using them, and I will probably continue from time to time, but not as I have this past year.
I’ve decided Tarot is more useful on doing readings about what a situation is NOW, rather than forecasting probable events in the future. One very useful spread that seemed to give a lot of accurate information for many people was the Life Purpose Spread. I will discuss that in a future post, but it can be found in the book Power Tarot, by Trish MacGregor and Phyllis Vega.
If any readers have other thoughts about this, I’d be very interested to hear them in the comments section.
